This weeks podcast guest is Hugo Scheckter, Founder & Managing Director at The Player Care Group. The Player Care Group are the UK’s first consultancy group focused on Player Care, Team Operations and Player Wellbeing within sporting environments across the world. Hugo started his journey in sport in the US coaching football before seeing an opportunity in Team Operations and Player Care. He became Team Operations Manager at Indy Eleven in the USL, before being head-hunted by Southampton FC and becoming the clubs first Team Liaison Officer. Hugo then moved on to West Ham, before at the beginning of 2021 starting his own business offering these services as a consultancy to sporting organisations worldwide. Hugo gives us a fascinating insight into the importance of Player Care in modern day football, working directly with Premier League managers and their teams to ensure everything that happens off the pitch runs smoothly.
